Great Eastern Training Centre

Great Eastern is one of the oldest and largest life insurance companies in Malaysia and Singapore, with operations in various countries across Asia.

Great Eastern entrusted PLM to complete the refurbishment and fit-out of their new Malaysia training centre, a critical component of their business given their staff strength of over 10,000 and around 4.7 million policy holders. Covering 99,000 square feet, the project comprised new training rooms, a cafeteria, an enhancement of existing auditoriums and improvements to other facilities and infrastructure. PLM’s scope included interior fit-out work, MEP services and acoustic insulation works.

A key challenge that PLM faced was working within an operational facility, which required careful planning during every stage of the project. This required extensive reworking and compression of the initial work sequence and schedule to accommodate the client’s operations, whilst still maintaining the contractual completion date, agreed budget and high quality standards.
